2026 Wellness and Technology Trend Predictions: Part 1

As technology develops, it is seen more and more in almost every health care visit. Whether it is note taking, diagnosis, or even imaging results it’s present in almost every step of the patient experience. AI and technology is also showing up more and more in the wellness side of health. Here are some technology predictions for 2026:

The first trend is Hyper-Personalization becoming the norm. We are slowly going to shift away from general advice to more individualized health insights. Achieving this will come from technologies utilizing wearables and AI driving personal recommendations.

Wearables like the Apple Watch or Oura Ring combined with AI driven real-time training apps will be able to push you while incorporating a constant influx of your personal health data. Wearables monitor vitals like heart rate, breathing rate, etc and then utilize this information to know when to push you for another lap or set, or when to take a break, depending on your goals. The app tailors each workout that is data driven, making your workout more personal and also more efficient.

The next product is the FITIV + Smartwatch or Bluetooth heart rate monitor. FITIV is a healthy and fitness tracking app that connects to any wearable heart rate monitor like Garmin or Fitbit. This app also provides insights into how your training is going, your recovery suggestions, and helps you achieve fitness goals. Your training becomes smarter and more real-time connected to heart rate, and intensity. This app also helps you balance the stress of training with the recovery of selfcare, helping you build your overall fitness more efficiently. You can also build actual workouts within the app itself.

Whoop is the next technology, a subscription-based, wearable health tracker. Whoop seems to focus more on the strain of training (both cardiovascular and strength) combined with recovery to ensure you are not overloading or under loading your body with your training schedule. Whoop seems to dive further into sleep details, which is always crucial for optimum recovery. This dives deeper into your body’s readiness for exertion and the effects of things like training, sleep, and even alcohol on your overall wellness.

Velocity-Based Smart Resistance Trainers are also coming onto the market. These attach to your barbell and basically track the quality of your movement and thus your workout. Technology like this will remind you to slow down or speed up the pace of your workout and the speed and acceleration of your movements. Fatigue and personal workout goals will be integrated to ensure your workout is achieving what you want it to and that efficiency is present.

Speediance on the other hand is a completely integrated multi-exercise unit with AI built in. Think home gym with your own AI personal trainer. More and more units are being created to combine the concept of at-home workout with the benefits of personalized, supervised training. Creating your workout, correcting your form, reminding you to take a breath or push through one more repetition can all come through AI. These units may also be very expensive but as with all technology, everything seems to eventually become more mainstream and affordable.

Overall, the direction we are moving in with technology and wellness is into a hyper-personalized realm. Years ago, this level of detail and personalized workout experience could only come from high-end boutique gyms with costly per hour trainers. Now, you can get the same experience in your own basement with the help of technology and integrated AI.
